Company Profile

Seedorf Power Corp. is an Ontario-based company developing solar and wind renewable electricity projects. We build upon 15 years of experience constructing and operating projects in Germany, France, and Italy. Our European sister company, Neue Energien III, has an installed capacity of 16 MW solar and 30 MW wind. We focus on medium-scale projects ranging from 100 kW to 3 MW, with an emphasis on roof-top solar.

Seedorf Power Corp. was established to access Ontario's Feed-In-Tariff for renewable electricity, a key component of Ontario's 2009 Green Energy Act. We are interested in partnering with roof and land owners, particularly in Eastern and Central Ontario.

South-facing roofs over 700 m2 make for the best solar power projects. Ground-mounted projects can also be highly successful, although these can only be developed on land classes 3-7 in Ontario. More information here.

The best sites in Ontario are located at the eastern edge of lakes and open areas. Industrial wind turbines are usually 1-2 MW in capacity, and can be connected to the grid as either stand-alone turbines or in wind farms. More information here.

As part of Ontario's 2009 Green Energy Act, the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) is managing a feed-in-tariff (FIT) program. This FIT provides independent power producers an incentive to produce renewable electricity for Ontario's power grid.

A requirement of the FIT program is that all projects receive a Renewable Energy Approval (REA) to ensure they are environmentally sustainable. Project developers must also consult extensively with the local community.
